Back in March our batteries were certified to meet the following standards. TUV Rhineland, one of the world’s largest and best laboratory certification companies, has certified the Zenaji Aeon battery and its associated Battery Management System (BMS) to meet the following critical Standards;IEC 62619:2017 IEC 62040-1:2017 The Zenaji Aeon is also certified by independent labs to meet;IP65 EMC (Electrical Emissions) Standards. This has been an expensive, time-consuming process not offered by any laboratories in Australia but required by many countries around the world for household batteries. Do yourself a favour and ensure you make sure your battery meets these essential safety standards before designing & purchasing potentially hazardous batteries. Safety is always at the forefront of Zenaji engineer’s minds. Our Zenaji batteries are the safest lithium batteries available as they do not suffer from so-called “thermal runaway”. This is the spontaneous combustion process caused by dendritic growth in the battery where fire can start at any time even though the battery is not being charged or discharged. The reason the Zenaji Aeon battery does not suffer from this issue is that it uses Lithium Titanate (LTO) cells which do not suffer from dendritic growth. Following the recent recall of LG batteries, fires in large Tesla-installed batteries in the US and well-published fires in Tesla cars, the safety of batteries in household systems is a genuine and realistic concern. To our knowledge, there are only two ways to make a Zenaji Aeon battery ignite and that is to put it in a fire (definitely not recommended), or to so overcharge it that it cannot handle the overcharge voltages, which is protected from ever occurring due to the redundancies programmed into a Zenaji Aeon BMS. This SIMPLY CANNOT HAPPEN as the BMS (Battery Management System) contained within the Zenaji Aeon battery will prevent overcharging, and when this is detected it will trip the breaker even if all components in the battery have become damaged and/or faulty. Does your preferred battery pass the TUV IEC Standards? If not, ask why and demand proof of their battery tests for peace of mind.
