Melbourne-based engineers have developed a ready-for-market battery solution that is set to shake the industry world-wide.
The battery, designed and created by Zenaji in Mentone, Victoria, has been created using titanium technology which is safer, longer-lasting and can be used in homes, industry and larger scale projects.
Features of the Zenaji battery:
- The company offers a 20-year warranty for its products making it the only lithium battery to offer positive return on investment.
- The warranty is based on three full charge cycles per day, compared to leading industry standards of one cycle per day.
- Its design includes higher and lower operating temperatures than current market leaders, and it is much safer than alternative lithium-based batteries.
- The product has multiple applications; homes, business, industry and heavy transport.

“Our focus has been to build a battery solution that ensures safety, makes economic sense and has a the recycle capability matched with the best materials in construction. That’s what we have achieved with the Zenaji battery.”
Mr Johns and his team work in industrial offices and warehouse in the heart of Melbourne’s bayside suburbs, developing the battery over the past decade. He said he hoped the success of the product would put Australian technology businesses in the spotlight.
“For us, we’re just engineers working away on our projects, but the Zenaji Battery is the result of many years of research, development and application to the materials and performance,” he said.
“We’re super proud of it, it’s been a lot of hard work.”
