Finn Peacock, the owner of the excellent SolarQuotes.com.au website (and we do recommend you
use SolarQuotes) published a recent article claiming that batteries do not pay.

The article cited Tesla as an example and that the warranty is 10 years (but, in fact 5 then can extend to 10 if you let Tesla control the battery!) but the payback takes 15 years. So he is saying the product is dead before you get your money back, and he is right!

Where Solarquotes article is wrong however, lumping all batteries together. As not all batteries created equal and that saying goes with Zenaji.

Zenaji LTO (Lithium Titanate) batteries are entirely different and require him to revisit his
article and here is why.

  • Zenaji Aeon batteries have a 20-year warranty. Note; this is not a declining warranty like
many other brands that consumers should be ultra-wary of.
  • Zenaji batteries GUARANTES to still have greater than 80% of their capacity remaining
after the 20-year warranty period. In fact, they are likely to retain close to 90% useable
    capacity at the warranty completion.
  • Zenaji batteries contain LTO cells that are robust. You can, within the warranty, fully charge
and discharge the batteries (100% Depth of Discharge / called a cycle) three times every day,
allowing you to get even better return on your investment.
  • Zenaji batteries allow for super-fast charging when the sun is out. The significantly less
robust cells used by Tesla, LG Chem, Sonnen, Sony, Pylontech, PowerPlus, Emphase and
others contain slow charging cells that need to be protected and thus limited in their charge
rates. Zenaji LTO batteries (using LTO cells) will allow all the available power from your solar
panels to be “dumped” into the batteries in significantly shorter periods – providing full
    charging even on cloudy days.
  • Zenaji batteries have other significant advantages such as; no need for heating or cooling,
and no thermal runaway which is the cause of so many battery fires. Our batteries provide
the safest battery chemistry available for use in your home.
  • Zenaji batteries deliver a super punch when needed. You can switch your hair dryer, kettle
and other devices on all at once and the batteries will provide the kick power you need.

I can hear the arguments now that these Zenaji batteries are more expensive, especially when you look at other batteries from SolarQuotes. This is simply not the case when you really examine what you are paying for and actual usage. What is true is that it costs more to manufacture LTOs but then it almost always costs a little more to create quality products.

R&J Batteries founder Ray Robson has Zenaji Aeons running his farm and house.

SolarQuotes themselves published a graph which clearly showed Zenaji batteries were the cheapest
per warranted kWh at a cost of only 7c per kWh. They later published a new graph changing one key factor that limited our three cycles per day to only one that our competitors can manage. This is far less than Zenaji warrants and importantly, does not reflect the reality of power pricing. The change SolarQuotes fails to take in any account of battery charge rates and, further fails to take any account of what will be required of batteries, when electric cars become the norm.

Zenaji would highly recommend you buy the minimum batteries you need and your daily need for
battery storage will vary, So on most days you could use 8kWh of battery but on some days you may
need 10kWh.

We recommend buying only 8kWh, as the additional 2kWh may become less likely to be paid off due
to their lower likelihood of being cycled. Zenaji have specifically designed our batteries for this
reason, so that you can adjust your storage requirements in 2kWh blocks. Just upgrade if and when
you need them with no downside.

Zenaji batteries are designed, engineered and manufactured right here in Australia. We are Aussie
to the core and the quality of our products both from an engineering viewpoint and a build
viewpoint are simply the very best.

– PSSST…We would not put a 20-year warranty on them unless they were! The Zenaji warranty is on the Solarquotes review of our battery.
